"Burning Alliance" Logo

I'm forming a spell team with a friend from wc3campaigns.net. We're thinking of naming it Burning Alliance (corny, I know). I recently thought of "Equipped Chaos", but I'm not sure.

Anyways, my friend (known as John) drew the original logo; I did all the coloring. For the most part, this logo is complete. If he wants changes made, I'll make them.

I saved the logo at certain intervals so you could see the process. Here they are.

Let me know what you guys think. It took me like, 5 hours (or more) to reach the final product. Sounds like a long time, but I had to do a lot of backing up, and I was trying out a lot of new tools and effects in GIMP.
And I know it's not OMFG AWSUM. I'm fairly new to computer art, and I had to use a mouse. (I have big hands, so it's hard to make subtle movements) Still, I think it came out okay compared to what it started as.

Both of you did a good job on the logo.

In the 5th version, are those etchings on the sword's blade supposed to be there?
They all look good to me.

Yes they are, but they didn't come out in the small version.

That sword is the phail, however.

I didn't draw it. The original one was even worse.
