Mooo's Paper to Computer Thread
I reinstalled Photoshop onto my computer a while ago, and after looking back at my little doodles, I decided to completely recreate/remake them all on Photoshop. I'm proud that I've improved over the years, but I'm still practicing newer techniques and learning. Expect this post to be updated. May take a couple days, or may take a few months.
Pistol with Light Attachment
I decided to pick one of my simplest ones to try first. I've had to make a few changes to the doodle itself, for after looking at a picture reference, I noticed a few things that were wrong. But, even then, I'm bound to make mistakes in the final product anyways.
Firegun
I've always liked the idea of a flamethrower, but was never really the kind of person who'd prefer heavy, large, bulky weapons. So this came from an idea of having a minimized version of an actual flamethrower. Again, not exactly sure if its possible for a flamethrower to work this way.
Ying Yang Avatar
Yes, a ying yang sign. Not sure why, but a bunch of my doodles have ying yang signs scribbled all over. Made in two avatar sizes.
Energy Rifle
Starting to work with the bigger drawings now. I've had a few problems with trying to get the glow, but I guess this would be acceptable. Had to change the background color to give the glow a little more visibility. Made in six different colors.
Special Ops
A first for drawing a person. I think he may be wearing a little too much to be stealthy but ah what the heck.
Hydralisk
My first attempt at vectoring. Gotta say, it took a lot longer than I expected, but on the other hand, I shouldn't have chosen something with so much detail. Background and Reference from the Blizzard Starcraft website wallpapers. Sample here.
Face of Mankind: BoS
Fan art for one of my favourite MMORPG games out there, Face of Mankind, featuring the Brotherhood of Shadows faction.

- Spoiler:
A standard-issue semi-automatic handgun with a tactical light attachment. Average accuracy and low stopping power makes this a poor weapon in comparison to the others.

- Spoiler:
A light-weight version of the flamethrower with a lower effective range and accuracy. This weapon was created merely as a last resort for any high-ranking officer.
Ying Yang Avatar
Yes, a ying yang sign. Not sure why, but a bunch of my doodles have ying yang signs scribbled all over. Made in two avatar sizes.
- Spoiler:
A traditional Chinese sign, describing that two opposite forces are somehow interconnected. It is also a sign for balance.

Rifles that shoot bolts of pure energy, using compact cells for ammunition. Armored, with a mounted 2x scope, this weapon is ideal for medium range combat. The color of the projectile and weapon are dependent on the color of the cell. Each color has no difference in power, but are used to distinguish between fire teams, platoons, or squads. Due to the bare electricity at the front of the rifle, it can cause harm to the operator if not properly trained.
Special Ops
A first for drawing a person. I think he may be wearing a little too much to be stealthy but ah what the heck.
- Spoiler:
Equipped with a variety of weapons and a multi-purpose visor, they are a deadly force to be reckoned with. The golden lining on the armor usually signifies the leader of a group or team. A special forces usually refers to an elite group of soldiers with extensive training.
Hydralisk

A Brotherhood of Shadows marksman from Face of Mankind

Interesting style; going for a cartoonish look, I suppose? Well done, better than I could do lol.

I guess, although I'm experimenting and this style seems to be the easiest for me.
EDIT: A small addition has been put in the first post. Nothing special.

Yes, the flame gun thingy is perfectly feasible. It wouldn't have particularly good range, accuracy or endurance (as far as fuel is concerned)... but it would definitely work.

Wonderful works! Hmm, I agree with fighter here, but wouldn't the barrel of the gun heat up?

Re: Mooo's Paper to Computer Thread
Hey, Moo... How would you like to work on a FPS together... I'm terrible at making art for games, and I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make art such as that and shrink it down. Whether you do or don't that's fine.
Drawings look good. They seem to have a sort of 'flash game' style to them. It would be very easy to remake them as vector art for a flash game or other 2d game. Whether you want to go into gaming or not, I would recommend learning vector art, as it allows for many features that normally degrade regular digitalized art (based on pixels instead of vectors). These features include things such as resizing an image without keeping to the scale ratio, and rotating the image by amounts that aren't multiples of 90* (pretend that's a degrees symbol... )

Aren't flash game codes complicated? JASS looked ridiculously complicated when I was first shown it, and I think JASS is supposed to be more simple than those other code-related things.
I'll put some consideration into learning Vector Art though.

LOL I meant I need an artist for a game I'm planning lol...and maybe if I can actually get a team who will do the work they are supposed to do, I might actually be able to finish a project

I guess I could, if you can actually find people.
Anyways, another drawing has been put up. I'll update it with shading later.

Re: Mooo's Paper to Computer Thread
Hey Mooo, where did you learn to draw? I'm trying to get into it again, and Victoria is almost too good to teach me (like, she's at a level where teaching me would be almost impossible). Are you just drawing things and hoping they come out well, or did you take some classes in school?

Actually... I've never taken an in-school art class in my life. I didn't take ANY kind of art class until grade 7-8, where I was taught for 1+ years in some sort of sketching class outside of school. I quit that and don't take it now. I'm still trying to get into an art class though. Already signed up for Grade 11 Registrations. So for the MOST part, I kinda taught myself over the years of doodling during classes and practice on the computer. However, looking at examples from other people and/or tutorials could help in anything else that might seem too hard. So in short, a little bit of both.
EDIT: Shading version of the latest one is done.

Well... your not the only artist Mooo. I made a picture too
I made it with MS-Paint and PhotoshopCS4 (for the transparencies and gradients)

Goldendercon submitted stuff waaay before I ever thought about getting into art again.
Anyways, that's a really good job. I've got a problem with drawing faces, which is why a lot of my characters are masked up, or have their faces covered in some sort of fashion (Bandana, Eyewear, hats, etc.)

Re: Mooo's Paper to Computer Thread
Bump Again. I followed Fewmet's advice and tried Vectoring. (With a little reading of a tutorial first to understand how it works in the first place )
You won't know what it is unless you know or played Starcraft.

Looks smutty, and sexy... I like it. Now you just need several neked girls around him, chained to him. His sex slaves.

Now that hydralisk is AMAZING. I wouldn't have had the patience to vector something like that.

Re: Mooo's Paper to Computer Thread
Looks nice. I really like the dynamic lighting on the weapon, and the cloth effects that appear on the armor. Only complaint I have is with the helmet, although there's not much you can do with the limited helmets offered in the game.
I just started playing yesterday after reading this post. Care to share your username and Faction? I'd assume your Brotherhood? I joined Mercs accidentally. meant to join brotherhood. Also, I can't seem to play if I have my other monitor connected. I just get a black screen. do you know of any way to fix this? (Having monitor 3 or 4 connected doesn't seem to affect it...)

Re: Mooo's Paper to Computer Thread
I'm still confused about the games combat system. Someone care to elaborate?
The trailers showed shit all.

Re: Mooo's Paper to Computer Thread
Shaden is my character (only 1 per account), and yes, I'm in the BoS Faction.
You might also wanna watch what you do in the game, its completely player driven, so the higher rankings watch over a lot of stuff that their faction members do. They could get pretty pissed if you blatantly shoot everything in sight, as with the diplomacy system, we're only at war with one of the factions. Pretty hard to explain until you get in the game.
Gotta warn you guys though, there are still a lot of mechanics in the game the majority feel is stupid or needs to be removed/fixed so there ARE a few things that are pretty unfair/unbalanced. I play it because I've played it since the OLD open beta (Several years ago the original company ran into financial issues and was revived about last year. The Old FoM was much better than it is now)
