These are the skills that the players who are hunters can use. Each hunter has 4 skills. The first 3 level up 4 times, with the 3rd skill being an "ultimate" that is learned at level 3 and has a 3 level skip requirement.

The fourth skill of each hunter is an innate ability that doesn't level and they all start with.
Here's the hunters:

Wolf Hunter; Agility; Ranged

  • Scope - Reveals an area of the map for a short time
  • Firecracker - Stuns an area.
  • Piercing Shot - Fires a special bullet that automatically wounds the target. Also deals some damage.
  • Wolf Detection Ward - Places a ward in at a point, where it grants vision and pings any wolves in its radius every couple of seconds.

Wolf Poacher; Strength; Melee

  • Hunting Dog - Releases a weak hunting dog to chase wolves. Has Bash.
  • Power Potion - Restores Health.
  • Spike Assault - Hits a target wolf and any wolves nearby with massive spikes.
  • Dog Whistle - Calls back any Hunting Dogs.

Riding Huntress; Intelligence; Short Ranged (Riding Huntresses are girls)

  • Flares - Releases a flare that gives vision of an area to all allies and alerts them of your position. At max level, damages wolves under the flare.
  • Mush! - Increases move speed for a short time.
  • Sparkflash Arrow - Fires a unique electrically charged arrow that damages a target and a large area around it.
  • ROAR! - The tiger roars, lowering enemy attack for a short time.

Alright, have fun!

How are the hunters supposed to get mana? I suppose they hunt deer or something, and i don't think hunters eating meat raw would be a good image for hunters =P

Wolf Hunter:
Ability 1: Accurate Shot-
Hunter attacks for extra damage. (kind of like searing arrow, extra damage for mana use)
Ability 2: Quickness-
Kind of like evasion and the hunter has less chance of missing if enemy has evasion.
Ability 3: Sacrifice-
Temporarily takes points away from str or int attribute and adds points to agi.

I might use something along the lines of "Accurate Shot".

Quickness... I can do the first part, but not the second. And the "Wolf Hunter" is a gunner. He isn't fast.

Sacrifice I don't like so much. He needs more of a damager skill.

Scope [WOLF HUNTER] - Reveals a part of the map, but with limited casting range. Each level increases the range of casting and maybe even the size of the revealed area.

Net [WOLF POACHER] - Tosses a net at really short, but not melee range. Every level increases the range the net can be thrown at or even how long the net stays. (It's not stun if the wolf can still attack while in net)

Camouflage [WOLF POACHER] [WOLF HUNTER] - Allows the hunter to stay invisible, as long as he stays still and doesn't attack. Each level decreases cooldown and amount of time needed to camouflage.

Intimidation Aura [RIDING HUNTER] - Being so large compared to the wolves, he intimidates them, causing certain stats to go down. Each level increases amount of stat that goes down by a bit.

Trap [WOLF POACHER] [WOLF HUNTER] - Basically the same as the scout wolf's set trap ability, except human traps are more dangerous, more costly, and have a larger cooldown, since humans make their traps out of better materials.

Sharp Eye [WOLF HUNTER] - A passive ability with the mixture of critical strike with a bit of an attack bonus. Each level increases chance of critical strike and the attack bonus

Mush! [RIDING HUNTER] - Increases movement speed, while draining mana at the same time. Each level decreases mana drain, and possibly increase movement speed.

Hunting Dog [RIDING HUNTER] - Spawns a hunting dog as a companion with limited life. Each level increases the stats of the hunting dog while the last level may possibly take away the hunting dog's limited life.

If any of these abilities seem somewhat rigged to you, you can always nerf them. Razz

Wolf Poacher:

Open Wound: Wolf Poacher has a chance to attack with extra damage and create an open wound on enemy. Enemy with open wound slowly loses health and if attacked, extra damage is taken.

Spear throw: Poacher throws a spear, etc at enemy,in a short range, stuns for a short moment and deals damage. Open wound effect still applies to this spell.

Enhanced Weapon: When the poacher attacks the enemy, poacher has a high chance to slow down enemy for a short time, skill has cooldown,(like searing arrow, except its melee and has a cooldown and has a chance to fail the slow effect.)(It helps by letting you get a short chain of attacks on enemy.)

Second and third spell help poacher catch up to enemy.

Post by FurryRage Sun May 25, 2008 7:03 pm

hum, back from my exams, I'll probably do a review tonight.
I have to say I like mooo's list, but how about having the coice to select from 3 hunters on revival? Instead of having the same hunter hero, you can choose between 3 heroes, each being an upgraded version of the normal hunters, you'll have a gunner, a swordmaster and a rider.
Could be pretty good.
EDIT : sorry, I haven't seen you already got that ;p I thought you were still holding on 1 hunter hero.
also, how about making hunters humans? rider could be knight, and hero could be garitos. Fighter could be swordman and hero could be captain (each being bigger than the normal ones in the village, to make them recognisable). Gunner can still be dwarf and I don't know what to use as a hero ;p how about some custom skin from the boreal conflict map like the black dwarves used as heroes.

next, most of the skills mooo gave could be used, + fluffy's accurate shot.

my list (using only skills already proposed, which are enough)

GUNNER :
Accurate Shot [WOLF HUNTER] -
Hunter attacks for extra damage. (kind of like searing arrow, extra damage for mana use)
Scope [WOLF HUNTER] - Reveals a part of the map, but
with limited casting range. Each level increases the range of casting
and maybe even the size of the revealed area.

FIGHTER
Net [WOLF POACHER]
- Tosses a net at really short, but not melee range. Every level
increases the range the net can be thrown at or even how long the net
stays. (It's not stun if the wolf can still attack while in net)
Trap [WOLF POACHER]
- Basically the same as the scout wolf's set trap ability, except human
traps are more dangerous, more costly, and have a larger cooldown,
since humans make their traps out of better materials.

RIDER
Mush! [RIDING HUNTER] - Increases
movement speed, while draining mana at the same time. Each level
decreases mana drain, and possibly increase movement speed.
Hunting Dog [RIDING HUNTER]
- Spawns a hunting dog as a companion with limited life. Each level
increases the stats of the hunting dog while the last level may
possibly take away the hunting dog's limited life.

Also, camouflage skill s no good since wolves can still sense with their nose. SO I don't think we should use it.
Camouflage [WOLF POACHER] [WOLF HUNTER]
- Allows the hunter to stay invisible, as long as he stays still and
doesn't attack. Each level decreases cooldown and amount of time needed
to camouflage.

I don't think intimidation is ok, since wolves are not easily intimidated if they are in packs.
Intimidation Aura [RIDING HUNTER]
- Being so large compared to the wolves, he intimidates them, causing
certain stats to go down. Each level increases amount of stat that goes
down by a bit.

The fighter could use a critical strike skill as a 3rd since he doesn't really have direct offensive abilities and a critical is one of the best damage dealing skills. Though, I don't like the sharp eye name, and attack bonus isn't necessary, the fighter should already start with a high damage value, since he have no range nor moving speed bonus.
Sharp Eye [WOLF HUNTER]
- A passive ability with the mixture of critical strike with a bit of
an attack bonus. Each level increases chance of critical strike and the
attack bonus

so:
as a 3rd skill for fighter, critical, maybe evasion with it, make it the same as the alpha male skill, it's pretty good, no need to change.

as a 3rd skill for sniper, a poisonous bullet, dealing damage each 3 seconds and slowing a little the wolf hit by it. 6/9/12/15 seconds duration with maybe 50/75/100/125 initial damage and 5/10/15/20 more damage each 3 seconds, with 10% slowing speed at any level, or a 6/9/12/15% slowing.

as a 3rd skill for rider, a stomp could be good is you change for a horse mount with a knight hunter, kinda like war stomp, stun for 2/3/4/5 seconds, in a 200/300/400/500 radius with a 25/50/75/100 damage dealt.

Now, on to some reviewing (maybe tomorrow in fact, I think I'll hang around in the forum for today, to see what was going on while I was away before reviewing things already said...)

scope and flare are too similar, you should change one of these to something else.
putting that appart, it's pretty good, I'll really enjoy next version ^^

also, I still have connection problems, so, no counting on me for at least a few more weeks, I'm still waiting for it to get repaired. (a technician came already but he did nothing and I knew more than him... So I'm waiting for them to either send another technician or change my connection box (since I'm getting IP problems in my local network too, I'm pretty damn sure it comes from the router in the box))

They're actually diferent, but I didn't describe it as such. Flare is far less ranged and doesn't reveal as big of an area, plus it pings your location. Scope just reveals an area that is slightly larger and can be farther away.

Plus, Flare deals damage at level 4.
