I just remebered something. I saw this in another map and found it to be pretty kool, you should make actual terrain instead of the usual crappy plain boreing terrain in all footman maps.

Actual terrain is relative, we have to keep the map-size small, because this stops people in the game from teaming someone up. (And reduces "Team 1 vs Team 2 and Team 3 vs Team 4" setups.). Maximum size that i feel like we could go for is one size larger than what the footies usually are.

The terrain will be a little bit different though, with some trees, some decorative doodads and maybe some strategic things such as cliffs there and there.

Maybe have a mode where the teams are setup like this:
Teams 1 & 2 VS Teams 3 & 4

Maybe, that will reduce that teaming problem you mentioned above me.

Nonono, that would be just lame. Teaming is part of the game, it shouldn't totally be destroyed, but it shouldn't be encouraged either. In small enough map, if you attack someone, it usually ends up with someone attacking you from behind. (Making early rushing harder.) Whereas in larger map the battle in mid will continue without the 2 teams, and turn into fight between the 2 other teams. Also, the base-size as it is now can hold just 2 teams fighting each other, any more and it will be all stuck up, meaning that teaming people is inefficient.

I've played a couple footies where there WERE top vs bottom / left vs right. They were a lot of fun and opened up a lot of new possibilities. Of course, if we do try something like that, the map will need to be bigger, but that's not a problem.

I agree with dark, those types of games were pretty fun. I believe that you should add some game modes.
