Website Layout

K Penguin, now that you've sold your sou- I mean, joined our forum, and since your project is complete, it's next in line for a custom set of webpages.

So, since I'm in charge of making these webpages (unless you'd like to design the HTML for yourself), I'd like a general layout of how you'd like it done. You can use multiple pages if you'd like (and I encourage), and any pictures you use can be uploaded here. (Or MediaFire, whatever you like).

Just give me an idea of how to lay it out, then give me the detailed information.

FWI, background color cannot be changed unless I use a custom background image in a solid color, but I don't know if even THAT will work (this forum hosting is very nice, but their HTML is... shoddy). Anyways, just write up the information and I'll get to it when I have time.

A'ight, but the map is far form complete. It's just playable. Also, this site is hideous and needs a UI. IMO, you should use Invisionfree Boards, as it's easier to use and looks nice.

It's playable, which is what's important.

This site is beautiful compared to what the previous 2 looked like. And what's a UI? (User-Interface?) I have no idea what that is or what it would be used for, or how to integrate it.

Invisionfree? You mean I'd have to move AGAIN? I dunno how much more often I can move. And does Invisionfree support custom HTML pages? If not, I'm not using it.

We were talking about his map, but Penguin mentioned this site and how hideous it was.

Btw, I will not be moving to invisionfree. The URL's are atrociously long, and the admin CP is disorganized and hard to use/follow. What I'm using now is fine. If it's just the skin you don't like, then tell me what you'd like to see instead. But I'm not forcing yet another move. I've already done that twice (Freewebs to Freeforums, then Freeforums to here). And this should be discussed in Site Discussion anyways. Bleh. Invisionfree doesn't even provide custom HTML pages, which I need for projects.

Besides, you haven't even told me how you'd like your HTML pages laid out...

I don't know how I want it.

But I feel compelled to make a new skin for this site.

What dark says is true. This is actually much better than the last two sites. Honestly.

I want choosable skins. Like I said, we all have different tastes.

Choosable skins, unfortunately, isn't an option provided with this site.

Every site has a few features that the others don't. If they all came together in one...

Penguin, skins don't work the way you'd think. You have to custom choose every single color, and that sticks with the site. It isn't like a CSS page or things like that.


Well, if you don't know how you want it then I'll do it for you and just ask for information as I need it. First, I'll need the link to the latest stable version.

Well, I think I can use CCS... I personally don't know how, and I'd have to check on how to implement it. But now that I think of it, I think there is a way to do it. Hm.

You can make the Nav buttons the same size, that's fine. At the time, I was more concerned with setting the site up and having better buttons than the crap I was provided with.

• Name of the centaurs, as well as HP, strength, etc. of all of them

He basically did add items, if you count buying health, lives and ales then yes.

I could have sworn he mentioned adding improvement items. Oh well.

Oh for fuck's sake Fire. Just because Penguin doesn't like Ua2 terrain doesn't mean he's a fucking "terrain nazi". If it were any map you didn't like, you'd be lol'ing and saying the terrain sucked. But because it's ua2, he's automatically a nazi. I haven't even seen any evidence he's a "terrain" nazi.

We did until I disliked UA2.

And he does have proof that i'm harsh on terrain, as that was my major gripe about UA2.

No we're still fine, i just like to say "hail terrain nazi" as a refrence to internet commenter. the caps are annoying though.

I don't think ua2's terrain is superb either, but that isn't the game's vantage point, nor does it try to be.

In comparison to LOTR maps, where their ONLY strong point is excessively "good" terrain.

Mebbe ua2 did look like a jungle but a city could look like one over some years.

I didn't think it looked like a jungle >.> I dunno where one gets the feeling of a jungle... The terrain isn't bad. It's not great, but I wouldn't call it bad either.

He called it a jungle because it had ashenville tiles.
